Problems met with conventional engine
It is evident when investigating the cycle of internal combustion engine, only 40% or lesser amount of heat energy is converted in to useful work and the major part of energy is dissipated as losses.Since the ideal power requirement is in rotary manner, the linear motion has to convert to rotary motion, and it is far from ideal. Therefore performance of the reciprocating piston engine is limited due to its inherent characteristics of the crank gear.
Oscillator engine was designed to over come these problems. Eliminating these drawbacks oscillator engine can generate 1.55 times higher power with an equivalent capacity engine.
Prospects of Oscillator engine compared with the conventional engine
1).As shown in the following illustration the oscillator engine uses the total gas pressure to drive the shaft, which will be converted to complete rotary movement at the next stage. It is found in theoretical analysis the power can boost by 1.55 times higher.
2).This engine doesn't apply crank gear for power generation purpose, which usually generates a considerable internal resistance to the system. During idle running power is spent merely to overcome the internal resistance. So that oscillator engine consume very small amount of fuel during idle running. Similarly, to start the engine, it require a small battery power.
3).In conventional engine there is always a lateral thrust developing on cylinder walls by the piston rings, resulting ware of the engine parts. In oscillator engine no lateral thrust is acted on walls of the working barrel, and the engine can operate for a long period.
4).Oscillator engine is having two compartments generating two working spaces. As a result the engine dimensions are reduced, as well as the weight.
5).The oscillator engine is having a higher efficiency with all this factors, and the emissions of exhaust gasses will be lesser, minimizing the environmental pollution.
